Purpose and Background
ANSS Currents communicates information on the activities of the
section to keep section members apprised of efforts on their behalf.
Currents is also shared with other associations, societies, libraries, and institutions
to communicate news of ANSS activities and interests.
ANSS Currents began publication in May 1986 and is published
twice a year (November and May). Two issues have been double issues: v.
2(2)-v. 3(1) and v. 7(2)-v. 8(1).
Editor(s) serves as an ex-officio member of the Publications Committee.

Production:

ANSS is responsible for producing the copy, design, and layout.
- Size is limited to 8 pages.
- ACRL publishes the newsletter.
Distribution
- ACRL distributes the newsletter to all ANSS members
- Fifty extra copies are printed and sent to the editor(s) for distribution
by ANSS. At present the Liaison Committee send copies to organizations,
insitutions, and libraries that request copies. The Liaison Committee maintains
the list for distribution.

Editing
- Edit long reports, set word limits if necessary, rewrite if necessary>
- Correct spelling, grammer, syntax, style if necessary. When in doubt,
consult with author and/or Publications Committee
- List institutions/affiliations of people mentioned in text of reports
- Abbreviate words like "university" where space is limited
- Use italics for titles
- copy should go to editor at least 2 weeks before date due to ACRL
Post production/publication
- Send 1 copy to chair of Publications, 1 copy to ANSS secretary, 48 copies
to Liaison Committee chair
- Send electronic version of reviews to ANSSWeb editor
- Send ASCII version of issue to ANSS-L
- PDF version should be created for ANSSWeb
